Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur – a famous Indian Hindu temple. There are 272 steps leading to the top.
We visited in stifling heat and humidity. But the climb was made easier by entertainment from local monkeys, and of course the elaborate shrines and decorations along the way.
The caves are dramatic. And like all major tourist attractions, they’re a magnet for a diverse range of global visitors. A great spot for people watching, although our tour guide had his eye on the watch.
(*We got back to the coach on time. A message for our late Australian passengers: where the bloody hell are you?)
