Day 7 – Nostalgia tour

As a teenager, Arlene spent 5 years at the prestigious University of the Philippines before heading to study medicine at De La Salle. This morning we hired a driver for a nostalgic tour to the University campus and nearby student haunts.

The University of the Philippines is located in Quezon City in the West of Manila – about 30 minutes by car from our hotel. We saw places Arlene hasn’t seen for nearly 30 years.

Joining us on today’s tour was a very special guest – the official lime green Class 87 DLSHSI carry bag. We decided it deserved to feature in every shot! As daughter Toni would say: how random!

  1. Hi Arlene and Greg…really enjoying following your trip…both the reunion aspect and the visits …what a fabulous time you are having. Such a contrast to our rain and gloom here in Aotearoa!
I’m looking frward to the next instalments!.

    • Thanks Pip. Yes, having a great time. Its supposed to be the rainy season, but actually very hot and dry in Manila. Surprisingly comfortable. Wet season? Humidity? These folk have clearly never been to Auckland.
